The historic castle town of Denia has a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants offering a wide range of international and Spanish cuisine. There are regular local fiestas - the Fallas in March, (the burning of satirical monuments in the street), the Fogueres of San Juan (songs and fires on the seashore), the Bous a la mar (Bulls at the sea) in July and the Moors and Christians in August, when you will see marching bands, fireworks and street parades. There is also the busy seafront, with its numerous bars and nightlife, the bustling fishing and ferry port where you can get ferries to Ibiza or Majorca, and the marina. Regular boat trips leave the harbour for trips around the small rocky coves between Denia and Javea and there are glass bottom boats for viewing life underwater. There are plenty of water sports to be had – jet ski, waterskiing, paragliding, pedaloes or speedboat rides. Beachfront bars, restaurants and a supermarket also within a 5 minute walk.

15 minutes inland you can find orange, lemon and almond groves, vineyards, untouched Spanish villages and beautiful mountain scenery. Benidorm is within a 30 minute drive where you can visit the Terra Mitica theme park, the water park at Aqualandia, or Mundomar Sea World. There are also two Safari Parks, caves, go-karts or quad bike centres within easy reach. The beautiful cities of Alicante and Valencia are both within one hours drive. The nearby famous Jalon Valley wine region offers you the chance to tour the valley and sample and buy good quality local wine at very reasonable prices. There are also two Championship golf courses close by (La Sella and Oliva Nova).
